When Teri sings for a church congregation, a spiritual gathering, or at a celebration of marriage or life she brings not only the experience of a seasoned performer but also in equal measure the devotion of a life spent in regarding singing as sacred service.
“When I am singing if I experience communion with God, it seems that others do as well. It’s not about putting on a show --although joy, celebration and laughter are also present. It’s ultimately about inviting and opening to God’s presence and activity in my voice. Then the melody and lyrics reach into the heart deeper than theology or doctrine and almost always have an opening and a healing effect.
This practice has had such a transformational effect in my life that I have dedicated myself to ever more deeply cultivating this both in my singing and in my everyday life and to helping others to do it also within the context of their gifts and lives. When I sing I want to communicate the love, the power, the grace, and most of all the presence of an immeasurably loving God who steps in our every step as we move and have our being along the way on life’s journey which began, is, and will end in the Divine”
